ZIVASKA Enterprises (“ZIVASKA”, “we”, “us”) operates zivaska.ca from Burnaby, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you place an order
Your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, the products you ordered and your order history. Card payments are processed by Square; we never see or store your full card number. If you choose “Pay in cash at pickup”, we only record that you chose it.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and the content of your message, whether it comes through the contact form, email, phone or the live chat widget (provided by Chatway).
When you sign up for an offer
Your email address, and whether you ticked the box to receive occasional offers and pest-control tips. The one-time welcome code is tied to that email.
When you leave a review
Your name, email address, review text and any photos you upload. Reviews are published with your first name or the name you provide; your email is never shown.
Automatically
Standard website logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site) and cookies that keep your cart and session working. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate; it sets its own cookies. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) and caching layer may also log requests for security and performance.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your order, including sending order and shipping-confirmation emails.
- To answer your questions and resolve problems.
- To send a single review-request email about 7 days after delivery, with a one-click opt-out link.
- To send offers and tips only if you asked for them; every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and spam, and to keep the site secure.
- To understand which pages help customers, so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Square – card payment processing.
- Shipping carriers (for example Canada Post, UPS, Purolator) – your name, address and phone number so your parcel can be delivered.
- Brevo – sends our transactional and marketing emails.
- Chatway – powers the live chat widget.
- Google Analytics – aggregate site statistics.
- Hostinger – hosts the website.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example in the United States). Where that happens, the information is subject to the laws of those countries.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the shop to work (cart, checkout, login) and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout need the necessary cookies to function.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to meet Canadian tax and accounting requirements. Contact messages are kept for up to 2 years. Marketing email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept according to Google’s retention settings (currently 14 months).
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can ask what personal information we hold about you and have it corrected.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link; review-request emails include an opt-out link.
- Account: if you created an account, you can review and update your details under My account.
To make a request, email info@zivaska.ca or call 778-758-2112. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Payment details are handled entirely by Square on PCI-compliant systems. Access to order information is limited to the people who need it to serve you.
Children
Our products and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
